The Lost Luvs & Tele Novella

Tonight I got to see my favorite local girl band, The Lost Luvs at the Siren's Song Tavern. I also got to see Tele Novella, all the way from Austin Texas. I love Tele Novella's music, plus their lead vocalist is my all time favorite musician, former front woman of Agent Ribbons, Natalie Gordon!

Les Miserables

North Coast Repertory Theater put on Les Miserables as their second to last play for the season. Les Miserables is not one of my favorite tales, and I have seen it so many times I was not looking forward to seeing it again. However, I am so glad I got to see it. I was completely blown away by the acting, and singing in this production. It was by far my favorite version of Les Miserables to date, maybe even one of the best productions I have seen from NCRT.

Arturo S. Rodriguez

I got to see Arturo Rodriguez present at Humboldt State University as part of the HSU Centennial Speakers Series. After Cesar Chavez, Arturo Rodriguez became the second president of the United Farm Workers of America. Arturo briefly touched on some successes and current challenges.

Breakfast Bento

Not all bentos have to take time to make. Today I went for something simple. The left side has spinach topped with tofu scramble and two mushrooms, and the right side has hash browns.

Little Shop of Horrors

I got to see Eureka High School's production of Little Shop of Horrors. They did a great job with the music and making the puppet Audrey 2. I have only seen the 2 movie versions of Little Shop of Horrors, so it completely surprised me that the musical version has a different more gruesome ending. It was a lot of fun being surprised by something so familiar.

Enchilada Bento

This bento has a spinach enchilada on the left, and brown rice heart surrounded by refried beans on the left. It looked a little boring so I added carrots, sunflower sprouts and garbanzo beans to add a little bit of color.

Three Panda Bento

It has been a while, but I am getting back into making bentos for lunch. The top tier is steamed broccoli decorated with carrots, 2 cucumber stars, and a mushroom accented with nori and sunflower seeds. The bottom tier has peas, celery, and brown rice and nori panda bears.
