Mexican food is hard to come by in the Philippines. So I made tacos to celebrate moving in to my new host families home. I fried crumbled tofu with onions, garlic and tomatoes then added vegan taco seasoning. For the tortilla I used local lumpia (a thin wrapper made of flour). Since I live by a free port I even got my hands on some refried beans.

This post almost made me cry. I wanted to surprise you...I sent a package to you on the 12th with tortillas in it (and some other things), but apparently it hasn't reached you yet, and it's been 18 days. I hope I didn't send it to the wrong address (you only have one on here now and I sent it to the other one), and hopefully it gets to you safely and soon!

Thanks Crystal! I'm super looking forward to it <3 It is normal for packages to take a really long time to get here so no worries. I will let you know as soon as I get it. It is a little late now, but you can send packages using the military rates (which is much much cheaper).
ReplyDeleteI'll be sure to ask about that next time! :) When I look up the tracking number it says it reached a sorting facility in the Philippines on October 21st and is "currently in transit to the destination." That seems like an awfully long time :( I hope everything is still in good condition when it gets to you.
